- Buy tinted film from any nearby tinted supplier or tinted shop. You also can buy from online (online is more cheaper than tint shop). www.uv400.com
Tools: (to buy all requirements tools visit www.uv400.com)
- Spray bottle (filled with washing up liquid and cold water)
- Sharp retractable knife
- Measuring tape
- A clean and dry towel / cloth (lint free)
- Scraper if you have dried paint or dust on the window
Remember : normally tinted film install in inside. But you also can install outside. If install outside, film will spoil faster. So better you install inside the window.
Step 1: Measure Window:
Measure your window height and width.
Step 2: Cut the film:
Cut the tinted film slightly oversized. Exm: if your window size is 30″ x 40″, cut tinted 32″ x 42″
Step 3: Clean the window:
Spray the soapy (mixed water with liquid shop) water onto the window and clean using any type of squeegee. Take special attention to the edges of the window. You should also use scraper if you have any dry dust or paint on the window. Spray the window again and clean all the water from the glass using squeegee. Now use dry and clean towel around the edges of the window so that dirty water doesn’t drip behind the film when installed.
Step 4: Prepare the tinted:
Spray the window again so that when install film, it will be easy for you to move the film. Remove the backing liner from the film and spray the sticky side. This stops the film from sticking to itself. You can use your teeth to separate the liner from the film.
Step 5: Apply the tinted:
Now place the film onto the window. Using the squeegee, start to remove some of the water from behind the film. Start from the centre, moving outwards. Don’t worry if all water isn’t removed. This stage is to keep the film in place for cutting.
Step 6: Trim or cut the Tinted:
Film is in place now. You can start to cut around the edges of the film. Follow the edges of the glass as not all windows are perfectly straight. You can use a straight edge or the squeegee to help you cut around the window.
Step 7: Squeegee / remove water from behind the film:
To remove all the water from behind the window, spray over the film with the soapy water once more and using the squeegee, remove all the water as you did earlier. Overlap each stroke and work slowly, applying as much pressure as possible without damaging the glass.
Dry around the edges of the film with towel.
If some bubbles still remain, try going over with the squeegee again. (Spray and squeegee)
Leave your window for drying…
You are done!
